1. How long are the sessions?
The first session is 1.5 to 2 hours. Later sessions are 1 hour.
2. Will I lose control?
No.You are always in control, but IF you choose to, you can surrender control. Your hypnotherapist will guide you through this process.
3. Can they make me do something against my will? NO! NEVER!
4. What about those people on stage who think that they are naked?
They are willing participants, (usually fuelled by alcohol), who are naturally suggestible enough to act as a participant in stage hypnosis. Hypnotherapy and Stage Hypnosis are two different practices. The therapist who uses hypnosis to correct behavior and the hypnotist who uses it for fun.
5. Can everyone be hypnotized?
Yes. Some are more suggestible than others and not every condition is referable for hypnotherapy. Difficult conditions require a multifaceted approach to healing. When this happens we work with your physician and or psychologist to determine the best course of therapies.
6. How many sessions will I need?
It depends on the presenting issue for which you come in. Symptoms for chronic illness such as digestion discomfort, inflammation, and cancer might require ongoing therapy. Other symptoms might get resolved right away.
7. Why do I need a medical or psychological referral?
All medical and psychological conditions must be reviewed and referred by a licensed practitioner before proceeding with hypnotherapy. In those cases, the hypnotherapist will refer the client to a doctor who will rule out any medical or severe emotional problems before proceeding. Once cleared, you can move forward with hypnotherapy.
8. Is hypnotherapy covered by my health insurance?
Sometimes your insurance will reimburse the cost of hypnotherapy if it is prescribed by your mental health or medical practitioner. You may be able to take a tax deduction or use your FSA (Flexible Spending Account). Please check with your accountant and your insurance carrier regarding this matter.
9. Does use of the diagnostic equipment cost extra?
Yes. A separate fee will be charged in sessions where those devices are used.
10. How often will I need to use this equipment?
It depends on how you respond and if you want to use it each time or only once. This equipment is not necessary for clients to enter a hypnotic state. They only measure results when you do.
